Over the next couple of days I've got a few great last-minute DIYs for your Thanksgiving table. The most time-consuming part of each of these simple projects will be the trip to the craft store. Let's start with this super easy set of leather Thanksgiving napkin rings. Read on for the full step-by-step.
Materials: pre-cut leather circles, gold calligraphy paint pen, craft knife, short wooden dowels
Use the calligraphy pen and your best script to write a seasonally-appropriate phrase on each leather circle. I wrote "Give Thanks," and looked at some pretty fonts for a little inspiration. The lucky part is that the calligraphy pen (which I'm sure I'm using utterly incorrectly) can make practically any chicken scratch look borderline elegant.
On opposite sides of the circle, use a craft knife to cut two small slits about 1/2" long along the edge.
Thread the short dowel through the slits, slip them on a napkin, and impress all your guests!
See, that's about as easy as it comes, no?

They look awesome <3. You gave me an idea for Valentines Day/Wedding napkin rings:
ReplyDeleteMaybe some heart shaped leather/red paper and an arrow out of a straw and paper and with the words "For my Love" or the names of the bride and groom written in gold?
