A couple of weeks ago, I shared how I put together the ultimate camera bag for my pretty new camera. On Instagram, I've shared the love I have for my new tripod. And now today, I'm showing you how to make a super simple camera strap in about 5 minutes. Read on for the step-by-step.
MATERIALS: 36" x 1/2" leather strapping, 2 x-large brass split rings, utility hole punch, 4 x-small brass rivets, rivet setter, hammer
Fold each end of the strapping around one of the split rings, and punch two holes about 3/4" apart.
Set a rivet in each of the holes. To learn more about choosing and setting rivets, read my Rivets 101 post.
Finish it off by attaching the split rings to the strap rings on your camera.
I love this camera strap because, for me, it falls in that perfect place between entirely utilitarian and cosmetic. It's minimalist but still has a little style.

I have always wanted to work more with leather! I will have to try this out. xx. McKenna Lou

I needed this tutorial at christmas! It's not too late. I can say to my SIL, I know that it isn't Christmas anymore, but this is what I SHOULD have made you.
ReplyDeleteHaha. It's the thought (not the execution or the timing) that counts, right?
