It may be Monday, but it's Tipsy Tuesday all week here on Fabric Paper Glue! The occasion? An ode to simple syrups. Simple syrups are a great way to add a little sweetness to any cocktail, and with a little creativity, they can also add some surprising flavors to otherwise familiar drinks. This week, I'm sharing four tasty simple syrup recipes -- along with a suggested cocktail for each one. We're starting it off with a vanilla syrup -- the perfect addition to an Old Fashioned. Read on for more pics and the full recipes.
To make the simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of sugar, and the seeds from one vanilla pod in a saucepan. Heat on medium-high, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool, and store in the fridge for up to one month.
Ingredients:
2 oz Bourbon
1 tsp Vanilla Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Directions: Stir ingredients with ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
