All this week, I'm sharing recipes for flavored simple syrups and the perfect cocktails to put them to use. Today, we're making a jalapeño-infused simple syrup and mixing it up in a classic margarita. Read on for more pics and the recipes.
To make the simple syrup, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, and 1 sliced jalapeño in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir frequently until the sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool. Strain the jalapeño slices out, and store in the fridge for up to a month.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Tequila
1 oz Lime Juice
0.5 oz Cointreau
0.5 oz Jalapeño Syrup
Directions: Shake ingredients with ice. Strain into a salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with a jalapeño slice.
