It has been quite some time since I posted a cocktail recipe, but I'm back in action today with one of my husband's favorite cocktails of late -- the Unusual Negroni. It's a derivative of the Negroni (hence the name), which is a mix of gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. The thing is...we sort of hate the overwhelming bitterness of Campari. This is a much smoother, more mild version. And bonus: I'm showing off my pretty new gold cocktail tools from RedEnvelope (you know how I love gold barware). Read on for the full recipe.
Ingredients:
1 part Gin
1 part Aperol
1 part Lillet Blanc
Orange Slice
Directions: Stir ingredients together over ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange slice.

Disclosure: RedEnvelope gifted me that pretty gold cocktail set from their entertaining line. All opinions -- including said love of gold and booze -- are my own.
Thanks for this recipe! My husband and I are cocktail drinkers too.
ReplyDeleteI bought some Campari for traditional Negronis and it. was. awful. I've tried to mix it with all sorts of things to cut down on the bitterness. No luck. Blech.
ps. sexy barware ;)
