This week, I'm showing you how to use one $2 bag of wooden hearts to create three adorable projects. Yesterday, we whipped up a little heart necklace as cute as it is simple. Today, we're creating a little napkin tie perfect for a Valentine's placesetting.
Try This: Chalkboard Hearts Napkin Tie
Read on for the full tutorial.
MATERIALS: Wooden Hearts, Electric Drill, 1/4" Drill Bit, Chalkboard Paint, Paintbrush, Black Leather Cord, Chalk
ONE: Begin by drilling a hole in the corner of each heart big enough for the leather cord. Give each heart a coat or two of chalkboard paint.
THREE: Connect the hearts to opposite ends of a 12" length of leather cord by simply threading the ends through the holes and tying them off.
FOUR: "Prime" each heart by covering it in chalk and wiping away. Personalize your hearts with your guests' initials or whatever you like!
FIVE: Fold the leather cord in half, and tie up your napkins by looping the folded end of the cord around the two hearts. Now get to celebratin' with a fine dinner!
I'm already such a sucker for creative napkin treatments...but this is really great!
