I'm back with another project to put to use decorative papers and gift wraps.
Be sure to catch up on Part 1.
This week's project is a set of oh-so practical notebooks.
Supplies: Decorative Gift Wrap, Cardstock, Printer Paper, Scissors/Xacto Knife, Spray Adhesive/Glue, Hole Punch, Twine
Directions: Begin by cutting all your paper to size. For the smallest notebook, I cut the cardstock and decorative gift wrap, which will both serve as the cover, 5.5"x7.5". The pages I cut to 5"x7". In all, I fit about 12 sheets of paper in (which translates to about 24 pages once folded in half).
Attach the decorative paper to the cardstock using glue or spray adhesive.
Fold both the pages and the cover in half lengthwise. To get a clean fold, I scored mine first using the back side of my xacto knife.
On the fold, punch two holes about a half an inch from the top and bottom of the pages and about 3/4 of an inch from the top and bottom of the cover. Just make sure the holes for the cover and the pages line up.
Now bind the two together using a piece of twine. Tie off on the inside of the notebook and trim.
That's it, my friends! You can switch it up by printing out some simple lines or even a grid to create a lined or gridded notebook. You can also create them in all different sizes.
I made a set by scaling up each of the measurements above by +1" in the length and +0.5" in the height. These are great for keeping in your purse to jot notes, shopping lists, and ideas. Tie them up with a ribbon, and you've got yourself an adorable little giftset!

Yeah, man. It's dangerous. The problem is that you see all these pretty patterns. You have no idea what you would do with them, but they're only $3 so you just buy it.
Deletei bought some on my way home tonight! but they only had the pink ikat and for that, i am blaming you.
DeleteThose are gorgeous!! I'm in love with your stuff!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks!
DeleteI just bought that blue pattern today before I even saw this post! I guess this is a sign I made the right decision in buying the paper. You have great taste! :)
